about me

Alina Soloviova

My profound interest lies in European law, with a specific focus on the decolonization of legal frameworks in Ukraine.

Throughout my academic journey, I've delved into the intricacies of self-determination, territorial integrity, and sovereignty within post-Soviet states, with Ukraine as a primary lens.

My research revolves around dissecting the tensions between the right to self-determination, territorial integrity, and inviolability of borders, examining their implications on the stability and security of sovereign states.

During my tenure as a Consultant of the Civil Chamber at the Supreme Court of Ukraine, I had the privilege of navigating the complexities of our legal system.

This strategic position not only enabled me to enhance the efficiency of litigation processes but also facilitated the promotion of fairness within our legal realm. The insights garnered from this experience showcase my expertise as a specialist, offering unique perspectives to navigate and elevate our legal landscape.

In my role as Chief Specialist at the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, my focus was on governance, illustrating my unwavering commitment to upholding legal standards. With over 20 years of experience teaching law to students and Ph.D. seekers, I earned a PhD in Law and achieved a Habilitation in 2019, further solidifying my expertise in the field.
